BASE Extract
Iso may be extracted from our IKE to be further refined into more advanced products, as seen on our Product Range page. After extraction of Iso from IKE, we are left with BASE.
BASE extract is rich in oils, waxes and beta acids which still have value. Adding BASE to brews can suppress the formation of foam and impart aroma. The presence of lipids from the oil and wax may also have a favourable effect on the metabolism of some yeasts.
JRM has a number of processes which can manipulate the composition of BASE in order to reduce beta acid contents, enrich or standardise oil contents in what is known as Aroma Oil Extract (AOE).
BASE may be packaged in cans, UN pails or drums depending on customer requirements.
-
BASE extract is rich in hop oils, which can enhance the aroma profile of the brew, adding depth and complexity to the final product.
-
The waxes and beta acids in BASE can help suppress foam formation during brewing, improving the stability and appearance of the beer.
-
BASE can be manipulated to adjust beta acid and oil content, allowing for customised formulations like Aroma Oil Extract (AOE) to suit specific brewing needs.
