At JRM, all our products begin with CO2 extract, which we then transform into a variety of products to suit a wide range of brewing applications. We convert the primary bittering component found within hops, α-acids, into iso-α-acids (IAA) through a process called isomerisation. This can improve yields from around 20-30% up to 97%.
This isomerisation would occur anyway in the 'boil stage' of the brewing process, but very inefficently. In contrast, our processes enables this change to happen separately which is what enables a more efficient use of the raw material.
When we manage this isomerisation separately, it provides brewers not only a hugely increased efficiency in their production process, but also improved consistancy of flavour, volumes and more managable cost.
For example, when convervson occurs within the brewing process the utilisation would typically be around 20%. Our products improve this to upwards of 40% (with IKE) and anywhere up to 80%+ (with ISO 30%).

Tetra - Coming Soon!
Tetra hydro iso alpha acids (THIAA) are a hydrogenated isomer of IAA produced by JRM, designed for beers that require strong foam and a pronounced bitter taste. Offered as a 9% w/w solution, Tetra boasts excellent light stability and foam retention, making it a potent bittering agent with expected utilisation rates of over 80%, and it can replace traditional inputs from extracts and pellets.
